Day01: Kathmandu Arrival (1310m), Transfer to star hotel
Representative from OLGA Tours & Travel will be there to greet you when you fulfill the custom and visa formalities after arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu. You will then be transferred to the star hotel. Freshen up and take rest. Enjoy the sumptuous welcome dinner in the evening and have a pleasant stay.
Day02: Staff meeting, trip briefing, Kathmandu sightseeing tour
After taking breakfast, you will visit our office in the morning. Meet with your tour members and guide. Get briefing regarding your tour schedule. You will be provided with a government licensed and multi-lingual tour guide. Enjoy Kathmandu Day Tour in a luxurious private vehicle. Start the tour from Swoyambhunath- the monkey temple. The UNESCO enlisted heritage dates 2500yrs back making it one of the oldest Buddhist Stupa. Ascend the seemingly never ending stone steps to the top of the hill. Swoyambhunath also serves as the excellent viewpoint in Kathmandu which gives panoramic views of Kathmandu Valley and mountains. Do not feed or tease monkeys that are commonly spotted in Swoyambhunath premises. Drive to Kathmandu Durbar Sqaure. It used to be ancient Royal Residence and center of power from where kings used to rule all over Nepal. Witness the flourished architecture from Middle Ages. Kumari Ghar- the home of Living Goddess, Kasthamandap Temple, Kal Bhairav Idol, Taleju Temple and Hanuman Dhoka Museum are some of the things to see in Basantapur. Enjoy the delicious lunch and move to Garden of Dreams. Built by Field Marshal Ksiser Sumsher Rana in Edardian fashion, Garden of Dreams exists near to Thamel- the focal point for tourist activities. Dating back to 1920, it comprises 3 pavilions, a hall, ponds, Natural library. Enjoy the nature in its raw state. Feel the wilderness and move to Bouddhanath- the largest Buddhist stupa in Nepal. Moving further, drive to Pashupatinath- the holiest Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva- the god of destruction. Although non- Hindus are not permitted inside core Pashupatinath, they can visit Aryaghat existing at the bank of Bagmati River to witness the cremation ceremony. After the busy yet rewarding day, drive back to hotel for overnight stay.
Day03: Tour in Patan and Bhaktapur O/N hotel in Nagarkot
Continue the Kathmandu Valley Tour by driving to the south of Kathmandu to reach Patan Durbar Square. Patan is known as Land of architecture and it is known for the finest examples of metal and stone works. Visit Golden Temple, Kumbheswor Temple, Rudravarna Mahavihar, Mahabouddha Temple, Machhendranath Temple and Kumari Ghar- House of Living Goddess in Patan. Take lunch before driving to yet another ancient Newari town of Bhaktapur. Ruled by Malla kings, Bhaktapur Durbar Square is clustered with sites worth visiting. Most of the heritages have been left intact by April 25th earthquake in Nepal. Visit Basantapur Chowk, National Art Museum, The Golden Gate, Taleju Temple,Royal Bath, 55- Window Temple, Siddhi Laxmi Temple and pottery Square and view the traditional Newari lifestyle. Drive to Nagarkot for overnight stay.
Day04: Drive from Nagarkot to Airport, Flight: Kathmandu to Pokhara
Nagarkot is the nearest hill station from Kathmandu. It is known for the incredible sunrise and sunset views over central Himalayas. In a clear day, it offers panoramic views of Himalayas stretching from Dhaulagiri in west to Mount Everest in the east. Drive to Tribhuvan Airport, domestic terminal from Nagarkot and catch a flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara. Flight continues for 20minutes. Fly high above clouds close to the mountains. You are on your own during the day. Either take rest or stroll around Lakeside, Pokhara. Enjoy delicious dinner in the evening and have a pleasant stay in hotel at Lakeside, Pokhara.
Day05: Pokhara Sightseeing
Pokhara is known as capital of tourists. It receives highest number of tourists each year. It is also known as the gateway for Annapurna Trekking. Take Pokhara Day Tour. Begin the tour with boating in Phewa Lake. Row your boat to the middle of sparkling green Lake to reach Tal Barahi Temple. Visit KI Singh Bridge, Davids Fall, Seti Gorge, Gupteswor Cave and International Mountaineering Museum. Return to hotel for overnight stay.
Day06: Sarankot Hike, Drive to Bandipur or Gorkha
Wake up early in the morning and hike to Sarankot hill for the incredible sunrise view. You can witness many adventure enthusiasts having fun with paragliding and ultraflight from the hill. After Pokhara, we can either drive to Bandipur or Gorkha. Bandipur is the Newari town perched above Dumre. Witness 18th century Newari architecture, visit Mulberry and silk farms and enjoy mountain views from Langtang in the east to Dhaulagiri in the west. Alternatively, we can drive from Pokhara to Gorkha- the historical city and the birthplace of Late king Prithvi Narayan Shah- known for the unification of Nepal. Gorkha Durbar, Gorkha Bazaar and Gorkha Museum are not to be missed while you are in Gorkha. Visit Kalika Temple located atop the hill and get unmatched views of Manaslu, Annapurna and other eight thousanders.
Day07: Drive to Chitwan, visit Tharu village, watch stick dance
After breakfast, drive to Chitwan. Chitwan National Park is the first National Park of Nepal and it is one of the richest wildlife areas in Asia. Many rare and endangered beasts have found their shelter in tall grassland, open spaces, marshy ground and dense Sal forest. Visit Tharu village in the evening and enjoy the cultural show. Stay overnight at a lodge inside National Park.
Day08: Jungle Activities in Chitwan National Park
Wake up with chirping birds and begin your Chitwan Jungle Safari. As many as 50 species of mammals, reptiles and more than 450 species of birds are found in this park. One horned rhinoceros, Royal Bengal Tiger, giant python, leopards, boars, gharial crocodiles, Bengal florican and giant hornbill can be seen. You can choose from Canoeing, 4WD Jeep Safari, elephant back riding and jungle walk to explore the park. Visit elephant breeding center and return to the lodge for overnight stay.
Day09: Rafting in Trishuli River, Return to Kathmandu
Drive from Chitwan to the Trishuli Rafting check-in point at Charaundi. Change in the comfortable outfit and put the rafting gears including life vest and helmet. Follow the instructions of the rafting guide and sail through the adrenaline rapids, bouncy waves, hefty holes and turbulences. Sail through Grade II and Grade III rapids like Ladies Delight, Snell’s Nose and Upset and enjoy picnic on the sandy banks of River before returning back to Kathmandu for overnight stay.
Day10: Free Day, farewell dinner with typical Nepali culture
This is a free day. It is time for shopping. Thamel is a great place for buying souvenir items. You can take rickshaw ride around Thamel or visit nearby Narayanhiti Royal Palace Museum. Upon your interest, we can organize a day tour in Kathmandu. Enjoy the farewell dinner with typical Nepali culture in evening.
Day11: Departure
This day marks the end of OLGA Special Tour. You will be shifted to Tribhuvan International Airport approximately 3hrs before your scheduled flight. We are happy to serve you and we hope to see you soon. Safe journey.
